The wood for this range of wands comes from a mountian site where the blackthorns grow within view of a large established and old Raven colony.

This wood is aui dried,out of the rain and the damp..but exposed to the wild mountain winds and the calls of the ravens.

A wonderful piece,curiously twisted,and a fine example of old hedgrow blackthorn.

this is a smaller wand,but a beautifully crafted wand..gnarled and wizened,beautifully marked with dark gnarling where the spines have grown..and quite sinister.

 

     

So twisted you might call it exquisite...profane perhaps,but exquisite all the same.

Perhaps the most formidable blasting rod we've yet had the pleasure to craft.

A remarkable big strong piece..the wood for this rod was cut at All Hallows 2007..and it's totally beautiful.

 

Heavily and prominantly gnarled,rich gold brown in colour and measuring 68cms in length by 7cms in circumference,this is by far one of our favourite rods and a formidable powerhouse of a wand.

As traditional dictates,the first letter of each word of the charm is reproduced in runic stave.

This charm invokes the Thorn rune with it's magical ability to block and deflect magical or psychic attacks along with the ability to return them by way of punishment.so not a wand for passive defence....but a wand perhaps for the seasoned adept witch,capable of forming his/her own moral code and living with it.

 

A heavily gnarled wand as you might expect..the number of gnarls is significant..the more gnarled the wand,the more aggressive the power.

This is a beautiful wand,pale glowing blackthorn,heavily gnarled as a blackthorn wand should be.The number of gnarls on a blackthorn wand is significant..the gnarls mark were the spines once grew.the more spines a blackthorn has,the more aggressive it's defence and attack.

The staves are scribed by hand..three sets of staves on each side of the wand.The staves are no great work of art..but then this is not a decorative wand destinied for the altar or coffee table,it's no show piece to impress your friends..this is a working set of staves on a working wand.And it has been crafted by practising hedgewitches of the old tradition..they know exactley what this wand can do.

This is a formidable piece measuring 91cms in length and 7 cms in circumference.It has been stripped of it's outer bark to revbeal the golden red brown of the inner bark and bears a runic inscription based  the ability of the thorn trees to block and return malice directed towards you or your property.It calls upon Thunnor/Thor to deliver retribution..justifiable justice against crimes directed against you.
