The Briar Rose

A small range of staves for ceremonial and ritual use.

These staves are crafted in exactley the same way as our occult wands.The wood is cut by ourselves,hand shaped and sanded..and of course,all staves are magically made.

We don't make many and those we make are totally natural,we don't force our wood into standardised acceptable shapes.The staves you will find here are as nature made them..the way the wood has naturally grown.

Each is crafted to retain the woods natural and characteristic features and all are naturally coloured without the use of stains or coloured varnishes.

In general staves will measure at least five feet in length and obviously come in a variety of thicknesses.All staves have either  a brass  or rubber ferrule fitted to the base to protect against wear.

All can be shortened to specific requirements..generally from the bottom as some staves are shaped at the top.

Hazel Stave

A beautiful and very powerful hazel wood stave.

This is  a very strong heavy stave with a natural kink along the length,perfect for resting the hand on.

Beautifully coloured wood with prominant gnarling towards the botton and a smooth flat top

The top..plain and flat and dressed with a tri coloured cord.

Natural Mystic Runic Hazel Stave

Beautiful dark "bark on" hazel wood stave,scribed with the 24 staves of the Elder Futhark.No blank stave.

This is a beautiful piece,part of the Natural Mystic range,crafted to retain all it's characteristic features.

This stave has two distinct bends to it..the central part of the stave has been scribed with the 24 staves of the elder futhark..the bark being  removed to house the stave..giving an overall two tone effect.

This piece measures 68ins in height and on average,2 3/4 ins in circumference and has been decorated with a hand braided tied cord in red,white and black.It has been fitted at the end with a heavy duty rubber ferrule.

Another good strong stave..with a natural slight curve to the top..at about hand height.

A good smooth piece,the gnarling being more prominant towards the bottom.

The top..softly shaped to a gently rounded point

 

The bottom with the brass ferrule and prominant gnarls.

This piece measures 66ins in length and 3 1/2 ins in circumference at the top...3ins at the bottom.Paler wood.with a very light dusting of natural pigmentation.

This stave has softly rounded gently pointed top and has been fitted with a small copper ring and a tri coloured cord.We've strung three raven feathers from it,but of course,the choice is yours,you might decorate this stave in any way you wish.

A most unusual staff with a natural serpentine twist to the wood.

A very elegant and subtle piece...an essentially feminine wood,and a staff of a smaller size,suited to both walking and ceremonial rites.

This is a lovely piece,pale glowing white willow wood gently shaped to a soft point at the top and capped with brass at the bottom.Decorated with a tied handbraided cord in three shades of blue.

The Witches Goddess

Extremely powerful and very rare elder wood stave.

The Mother Tree of Germanic witchcraft..the elder is perhaps one of the most powerful "fairy" tree in the Bristish Isles with an ancient  magical presence.

This is a wonderful piece..old elder wood cut at All Hallows 2008 and dedicated to the Witches Goddess..Hel or Frau Holda..the Elder Mother at All Hallows 2009.

 

 

This piece has been decorated in the corresponding magical colours of black and white,representing the two faces of the Goddess,complete with one raven feather and three pied magpie feathers.This piece has fine quartz crystal point at the top and a heavy black rubber ferrule at the bottom to protect the wood.
