A genuine Wyldewood Wand will be natural,perfect straightness and freedom from gnarls and knots is not in the nature of some woods,so each wand will be unique and as individual as it's owner.We see little reason to embelish the naturally present power of the wood,and there will never be anything on a Wyldewood Wand that will come between your hand and the wood.We do not colour our woods with stains or coloured varnishes,all the colours you see are completely natural,either being created by the wood itself,the inner bark or the outer bark or pigments naturally present in the wood.Each wand is protected by three coats of resin based varnish and polished with pure beeswax.There is a reason for this..our wands are not designed to lie ceremoniously on an altar..they are made to be used,and used in all weathers and conditions.Your wand will arrive with a pure beeswax dressing that may feel tacky to the hand..this will wear off naturally or you may polish it off with a soft,lint free cloth.All wands come with a hand braided pure cotton cord of corresponding colour.We use the traditional craft colours of red,black,white and green.Should you have a preference as to the colour or combination of colours ,simply say the word and it's yours.Your wand can be hung from a traditional witches girdle,belt,from the wrist or even on your bedpost overnight.

A witches magic stick is a lifelong magical companion,a working partner,it was never meant to spend it's life shut away in a ceremonial box.Carry these wands with you..use them daily,take them on your travels,they are inconspicous enough to allow you to always have them present.You can only abuse these wands by not using them. In time you will build up  a powerful working relationship with the wood of your wand,as if the tree and yourself where one...

Wyldewood Wands are handcrafted traditional witches magic sticks.Call them gandrs,wands or rods..these are authentic handcrafted wands,no machinery whatsoever is employed in the crafting of these wands,each one is handcrafted from begining to end,from the ritual gathering of the wood to the handbraiding of the cord.

No tree is destroyed or harmed in their making,all traditional observances related to the gathering of livewood are strictly observed.We do not use previously felled wood from a wood yard,,nor do we use deadwood in the making of our wands..for the traditional witch,the inherant power of the tree is only present in livewood.We use only wild growing wood,we do not use domestic garden grown wood.

You might buy many beautiful and ornate wands today,perfectly turned wands of a similar shape and size..but a Wyldewood Wand will always be unique.There are no two the same..or ever will be.The only influence in the crafting of these magic sticks is the nature of the tree itself..and the living spirit of the wood.

Linden Wand

Fine and very rare linden wood wand...one of the most reverred trees in Germnaic mythology,and the link between the underworld and the manifested world of Midgard.The linden is the home of the serpentine power of the Lindwurm and once stood as the central pivotal tree in many villages and small towns embodying the collective spirit of community.

It's wood,containing this phenomenal serpentine power was once used in the making of magical shields.These shields also represented the collective spirit of the home community and were said to ensure safe return of the warrior.

Perhaps then a wand for the adept,the elder,the Magistrar,Blackman..the shaman,the one that most represents the community and retains the collective consciouness.

Whilst not a native of Europe,this tree nevertheless has grown here for centuries and holds a prominant place in the Western magical tradition.

This is a unique piece,old holly wood,fine and elegnat yet heavily gnarled and still bearing some of the grey/green pigmentation of the inner bark.

A beautiful set of three occult sized powers woods..with a distinctively masculine energy.

From left to right,English Oak wood,Hazel and quartz tipped Ash wood.

Now these wands have been together from the beginning of their crafting..so we can't seperate them now,but suffice to say they form a team,and work in co ordination with each other as well as independantely.A rare chance to aquire a set of power woods that have shared a common crafting by the same person.

Medium coloured oak wood,deeply grained with fine gnarling towards the bottom and a naturally curved top,old gnarled hazel wood liberally coloured with darker pigmentation..and beautiful ash..rare with it's heavy and prominant characteristic gnarling ..tipped with a fine raw quartz point.

ever since mankind emereged from the forest and began to cultivate the land,trees have reatined a special place in folklore,magical tradition and sopiritual concepts,wether it be as archetypal spirits or manifested personifications,the great trees of the British wild wood carry the ancient conecpt of a world apart.a magical world,a world half remembered..a lost world of secrets and mysteries..an Other World.

what if we could find our way back..what then?What awaits us in the wildwood?Folklore is rife with tales of the unwary traveller who takes the "wrong path2..or the knight errant or hero on a special quest who disappears into the forest and finds...waht does he find?

That the trees walk and the stones sing?That time ceases to exist?That this other world is magical beyond his wildest dreams?

 

This is a set of wands crafted from the wood of those trees..the great trees of folklore and fairy tales..inspired by traditional concets of the archetypal tree spirits...the regal Lords and Ladies of the forest,the benevolant Mother trees,the ambiguous dual natured thorns..tree with ancient histor/s and immense magical associations.

This is a unique set,the only one in exisitance,18 of the most magical woods in traditional witchcraft.Each wand is crafted entireley by hand,and each consecrated for magic,medicine and meditation.All the Wands measure between 9-10 inches in length and all are strung on handbraided cords in black,red and emerald green.
